Bleeding Green

Once again I watched my Riders implode after making myself and every other watermelon head in the country believers last weekend. I mean they just annihilated smilin Hank and the Stampeders last weekend. We all thought they were going to make it, and now the agony of defeat rests so heavy on me that when Johnny said we should cheer for a different team next year, I agreed. But when the bitterness in my belly diluted a bit and the anger at a team that appeared not to have shown up dissipated just a bit, (d words are in) I realized that I can't do it. I have always been and will always be a Rider fan. I can't help it. Its like saying I am a sailor and hate the water, can't happen. I was born a stubble jumper and therefore I am a Rider fan. But, oh how I would have loved to see the Riders in the Grey Cup next weekend. *sighs long and loud as a small tear rolls down face.* you watch us next year

Poor Dad, that's too bad. I feel sad that you've been had. You must be mad. No matter how many times you fans get kicked in the nads, you keep on cheering cause Rider Pride is not a fad.

This weekend was rad, staying at your pad. I'm so glad that you're my dad. It was too bad you got hurt a tad. You should try a heating pad.

... Rhyming is in too...

I feel sorry for all Rider fans. We know they can do it, although that would have been a completely different team.
Becky, you are hilarious!

LOL Becky. John we share your sentiments. I think no matter where we are, Art will always cheer for the Riders and I do also.
Except it's so fun once in a while to cheer for a team that I know Art can't stand just to keep his adrenaline up.

Now you guys can really shake your head and chant..'one of us'. Whoa John.
Sorry to hear about your team. I am asuming that it's football and not hockey?
That's how much I think about sports.

Yes ma, Grey Cup is football, but Canadian football, not American, like we watch. Not making a statement about either, I just don't want my mother to think that football season is close to over for us, she'll be disappointed in a couple of weeks when we're still rushing home from church for the game.
Our team is 7 and 2 right now, so we're happy about that, though we're not winning like we should be.
Keep believing in your team Uncle John, fair-weather fans suck.
Becky, no more Veggie Tales for you.

Wow, even I was kind of excited when I heard that the Riders were in the running for the Grey Cup. Go Saskatchewan's only professional sports team! :D But now I'm a little bit sad again. But not too much. Definitely not as much as you.

I'm sorry that BC won. Apt, as they do a few things better than Saskatchewan (like weather, for instance) but I thought for sure they'd die in Winnepeg, since we are a little wimpy over here. Better than Montreal, I suppose, but not as good as Sask. I'm still cheering for the Eskimos, whenever I watch CFL.

Oh Mel, how could you cheer for the eskimos. The only time I have cheered for the eskimos was when they were in the Grey Cup against Montreal. The only two teams in the cfl that I don't like. *shudders and shakes as shiver runs down spine*

I'm very sorry to have disappointed you. In my defense, I remember Angie once gave me a pair of shoes that had three Roughriders signatures on them. I wore them religiously until the soles fell off.
I'm not really loyal to any cfl team, I bleed blue and orange for the Broncos, and love the Colts as well. I know not one CFL player, except Ricky Williams who is supposed to play for Miami, but is playing in Canada for a year because of a one year suspension from the NFL.
For you, Uncle John, I'll be a Sask fan.
Go Roughriders!
There, how was that?
